“How did you end up here?”
I had asked because I was genuinely delighted to see her.
For some reason, Baek Sa-ra stared at me and let out a long sigh.
“That’s inappropriate.”
“What do you mean, inappropriate?”
“Why are you acting like the owner of a house welcoming a guest?”
Oh. Had that sounded a little strange?
After living here for about a week, without even realizing it…….
When I belatedly recognized how odd I sounded, Baek Sa-ra sighed again and spoke.
“You should leave when you’re told to leave. Or at least stop at a reasonable point and come out. What will you do if you get hurt?”
Under my instructor’s reproach, I cautiously studied her mood.
Then I tentatively offered my opinion.
“I think I’ve become fairly strong by now.”
“As if.”
Baek Sa-ra smiled with the impenetrable certainty that the idea was absurd.
I took the opportunity to subtly change the subject.
“But really, how did you get here?”
“I came with authorization. Approval to deploy agents came through an hour ago.”
Baek Sa-ra opened her bag as she answered.
Then she pulled out a rustling paper bag and handed it to me.
The bag was strangely warm.
When I opened it without understanding why, I found a hamburger…
