“Hello. I’m Oh Tae-o, acting team leader of Analysis Team 5…….”
Looking at the man named Oh Tae-o, I flinched inwardly.
Oh Tae-o, who had come to my hospital room, looked like a man whose very presence declared, ‘I’m a researcher,’ and, ‘Yes, I pulled another all-nighter.’
He appeared to be in his early thirties, wore thick glasses and a white coat.
I had never met him before, of course, so why was it?
Several of his characteristics felt extraordinarily familiar.
For example, his unkempt, shaggy hair.
Deep dark circles.
Pale skin.
Hunched back.
Half-submerged voice.
And even his shambling gait.
Was this not the very image of someone from my industry approaching publication day?
After seeing nothing but straight-backed, broad-shouldered muscle people at the Bureau, encountering one of my own kind felt rather strange.
Clutching a tablet and a file of documents, Oh Tae-o shuffled across the hospital room.
He came to the table where Cha Si-eon, Gwak Jae-gyeom, and I were sitting and took the seat opposite us.
The instant he sat, he released a long, long breath.
“I’m glad you’re all right……. I was terribly anxious, thinking something had gone seriously wrong…….”
