“I also heard it from our team leader, but Apophis refused the search operation.”
“Refused the search?”
I asked in surprise.
Apophis.
A mercenary company formed by retirees of the Special Management Bureau.
“Didn’t they say that those people would lead the operation to rescue Team Leader Cha?”
As I thought, this rescue operation was planned with Apophis at its core.
The reason was, of course, the chronic shortage of manpower in the Management Bureau.
During this Intensive Suppression Week, almost every agent in the Management Bureau’s Field Command Division was carrying out a mission inside a Special Zone.
Even Group 6, the backup force for emergencies, was deployed to isolate 「Ant Hill」 and couldn’t move at the moment.
There was no way to regroup Group 1, which barely survived 「Island」, and push them back in.
In the end, the Field Command Division’s command staff requested help from Apophis.
So, after various adjustments, it was decided that Apophis and the Management Bureau agents would cooperate to carry out the rescue operation.
