Episode 7. The Corpse That Runs (6)
Creeeak—
Jae-gyeom and I pulled on the rope we had tied around the goal and benches earlier.
When the two of us strained together, the objects connected to it were dragged one after another onto the field.
We pulled until the rope was taut, then tied it to a pillar beneath the stands.
With that, we completed a barricade across the field.
Of course, neither of us expected this flimsy fence to last long.
Still, it had to be better than playing tag across an empty field.
“Ha-ma, Ha Yu-ju! Wake up. We’re going now!”
At Jae-gyeom’s shout, Ha Yu-ju forced her eyes open.
Her entire body was drenched in sweat as though she alone had been caught in the rain.
We placed the corpse inside a roll container we had found in storage and seated Ha Yu-ju there as well.
Jang Han-bin would have to push it alone.
To the center of the field, and then all the way to the goal.
We had considered tying on a rope and helping pull it.
But we did not know how strict the victory ruling would be, so it was better not to take a needless risk.
Instead, Jae-gyeom and I planned to stop the approaching zombies as best we could.
“Let’s go.”
