Episode 9. Rooting Out the Fake (8)
Two cases of five-hundred-milliliter bottled water and one box of biscuits.
Compared with the enormous sum of one hundred million won, it was a truly pitiful quantity.
“We’ll carry it to the third floor. But if all of this gets stolen, that isn’t my problem, okay?”
The teddy bear sounded half excited and half suspicious.
It was pleased to have made money but apparently curious about what I intended to do.
That was why it had the skull masks carry the supplies and personally followed me all the way to the third floor.
The people there murmured when they saw us.
“Please take one bottle of water and one tin of biscuits each.”
At my words, the puzzled people rushed forward.
They did not even ask why. They first gulped down the water and tore open the biscuits.
“Oh. A good person.”
The teddy bear seemed reassured when it saw me distributing the food for free and nodded.
“Good, good. People should live by helping one another.”
What a relief.
This bastard truly was a fool.
There were two reasons the teddy bear held absolute power here.
One was the deformed strength peculiar to a Contaminated Person.
The other was its monopoly over resources.
Yet it had surrendered one of those pillars so readily.
It appeared to come from arrogance…
