“Are we certain the Glacial Trial has actually begun?”
One of the warriors who had followed her asked.
His gaze was fixed on the mountain, turned pure white after the passing snowstorm.
“I don’t know.”
“…Did you not clearly say it was the Glacial Trial?”
“Has the cold frozen your earholes shut? I never said the Glacial Trial had begun. I merely said there was a possibility, so it would be wise to prepare.”
Berserk’s gaze was likewise fixed upon the mountain.
If there was one decisive difference between what she and the warrior were looking at, it was probably what each of them sought.
Bwooo— Bwoooooo.
“…They found another trace.”
“Give the signal.”
Then the signal they had been waiting for came.
Berserk narrowed her eyes, and the veteran hunter leading the warriors gestured.
The girl following directly behind the hunter lifted the horn she carried to her lips.

A long signal rang through the air, announcing that their group was alive but had found nothing.
Even with the snow devouring the sound again and again, it was loud enough to carry beyond the mountain.

“Great Warrior, the other group says they’re going back. What will you do now?”
“I am not going down.”
“…It’s been four days.”
“So?”
Berserk rubbed her ears several times as though the lingering sound still echoed within them even after it faded, then slapped her hands together.
