“God!!”

The Inquisitor’s first action upon joining us was to pray.

A soft golden light rippled through the young woman’s green eyes like barley swaying in the wind.

“Judgment upon the invader!”

And when that wind ceased, countless grains of barley came pouring down, creating a golden hill.

A hill that struck the wolf’s head caught in the rift and buried it beneath itself.

KYAAAAAAK!

The monster, crushed beneath Divine Power, let out a mournful roar.

The bundles of tentacles that had extended from it bowed their heads like wilted flowers and simply plummeted.

Thud, thud, thud.

The fallen bundles stabbed into the white snowfield like snakes struck by paralyzing needles.

The attack was even more effective than I had imagined.

“Now.”

Erutelk, however, neither rejoiced nor relaxed.

If anything, the sight of the immobilized monster seemed to put the Mage even more on guard.

After snapping me back to attention in that scraping, metallic voice, Erutelk immediately moved the sword.

The blade scraped away part of the snow, tracing lines that inscribed magic into the ground.

“…Right.”

Well, that was actually the correct response.

The monster hadn’t been driven away completely. It had only been temporarily—because no matter how I looked at it, there was no way that would last long—disabled.

Relaxing over that would be nothing more than letting our guard down.
