After riding for more than two weeks, we finally arrived at the rendezvous point designated by the Vermilion Bird.
But the one who greeted us there was not the Vermilion Bird himself.
Only the lord who had been entrusted with delivering his message was present.

The moment the lord finished relaying the request, all of us became visibly uncomfortable.
Even the Inquisitor, who normally accepted instructions without questioning them unless absolutely necessary, doubted her own ears enough to ask again.

I looked at the corpse wrapped up tightly like a mummy.
Its silhouette was unmistakably human.
There was no possibility of misunderstanding it.
This was clearly a human body.
“I was not told the details either, so there is little I can explain. But what I know with certainty is that these must be returned to the Noble Dragon, and that if they are damaged before then, the world will be endangered.”
