“Aaagh! Agh!”
Deathbringer rolled across the snow to avoid the black mist leaking through the rift.
He overcame the fact that his frozen legs refused to move the way he wanted through sheer force of will.
Feeling as though parts of his body were falling off could still be dismissed as his imagination.
But if his head came rolling off, that would no longer be something he could dismiss as a feeling.
That was what made it possible.
Snowflakes clinging to his clothes rustled loose every time he moved.
“W-would it fucking kill you lunatics if the Impure Sword actually worked?!”
Hwoooooo!
“Goddamn it!!”
Strictly speaking, it wasn’t as though it had no effect whatsoever.
It could stagger them a little.
But what use was that if he couldn’t kill them?
Especially when there wasn’t only one enemy after him.
“Fuck!”
They had no eyes, so smoke bombs were useless.
They had no respiratory organs, so poison powder was equally worthless.
The one small comfort was that each individual creature wasn’t especially fast, meaning he could lose them if he ran with everything he had…
But even that meant little now that there were enough of them to surround him.
As long as eliminating them was impossible, their encirclement would be completed before anything else.
“Damn it!”
The moment he reached that conclusion, Deathbringer found himself in a truly desperate situation.
It was the same powerlessness he always felt, now mixed with irritation, sadness, frustration, and everything else.
Everyone else is handling…
