Bang!
Berserk surged to her feet so violently that the butteul seemed ready to collapse beneath her.
The ominous expression on her face was the result of something knotted deep within her chest finally leaking out.
“W-Wait—”
Smart people were always like that.
They gained trust by listing truths without lies, while quietly concealing the truths that truly mattered.
So that no matter what problem arose, they themselves could pull their feet free.
So responsibility would fall instead upon the person who had failed to understand properly.
“Move.”
Did she resent that?
Not particularly.
The world was a place where the cunning rose more easily than the honest, and didn’t most humans put themselves before others?
So it didn’t matter that Meister had attempted to deceive her cleverly.
It didn’t matter that she herself had nearly fallen for it.
That was truly fine.
“Th-The thing is, we weren’t only told to keep the horses safe…….”
That itself was genuinely fine.
There had been countless crafty humans who tried to use her or deceive her over the past twenty years.
Truly.
So very many.
“I won’t kill you. Move.”
“Even if you say that with a face like that…….”
“Pamir of Blue Aspiration.”
But there was one thing she could not endure.
That the final trace of her older sister might be moving farther away with every passing moment.
That the remains could disappear from this world before she had the chance to reclaim them.
That alone was something she absolutely could not accept.
