I opened my eyes feeling refreshed for the first time in ages. No, I could not even remember how long it had been since I had slept at all. A ‘Master’ was exempt from most physiological needs required merely to stay alive, after all.
Was this not a time when every moment counted?
Someone with strength on my level could not afford to idle his time away. Sleep certainly offered mental benefits, but if there was a more critical task before me, I naturally had no choice but to postpone it.
Consequently, I had not fallen asleep once in the past several weeks.
At most, I had engaged in brief meditation to collect my thoughts. It was no wonder that greeting the morning in bed felt exceptionally refreshing.
All the more so when the woman I loved lay nestled in my arms.
A warm, gentle weight rested against my arm. When I turned my eyes slightly, I found a woman with soft skin breathing quietly beside me.
