Sangun climbed the giant with Yukgwi dangling from their back. Considering Yukgwi’s sheer bulk, it was far from easy.

[Ancestor, ever thought about going on a diet?]

[Sure. Looks like today’s the day you want every last one of your scales ripped off.]

[No! I’m serious, you’re really heavy!]

[You think I’m comfortable?!]

First, Yukgwi wedged their body inside Sangun’s shell—using the holes for the tail and head did the trick—and then wrapped around the giant a second time. And because Yukgwi would slip out of the carefully wedged position if Sangun moved alone, Yukgwi had to crawl their legs along as well, climbing the sheer vertical cliff together.

For humans, it would have been roughly the equivalent of a three-legged climbing race. No safety rope, no anything—just an utterly reckless, chaotic, disastrous climb.

[These petty demon bastards! They really do have a talent for pissing off Divine Beasts!]

In the end, Yukgwi was the first of the two to explode in anger. It wasn’t as though Sangun felt no rage, either, but in Sangun’s case exhaustion ran deeper than irritation. The snake, which had fallen silent for a while, scuttled across the giant’s belly.

[I miss that knight of mine…….]

[I miss him too. Wouldn’t one swing of that sword of his just chop this thing clean through?]

If that had been possible, they would have tried it long ago, but Yukgwi and Sangun silently chose to ignore that fact.…
