[Swallow them all.]
The one gripping the monster’s horn whispered softly.
At first hearing, it was a lovely, clear voice, smooth enough to sound like singing.
Its words were anything but.
At the Great Demon’s command, Chaos extended the thousands of tentacles sprouting from its body.
It looked like a hedgehog swelling itself up before firing every spine in all directions.
“Dodge!”
Mistilteinn’s desperate shout reached everyone in the plaza.
Of course, simply warning them did not mean everyone there was capable of following the command.
“Aaagh!”
“Gah!”
Several close-combat fighters who had remained in the plaza to support Mistilteinn rather than climbing the buildings were pierced through by tentacles and dragged away.
They were pulled so quickly that neither Mistilteinn nor Berserk could even think of saving them.
Gulp, gulp.
The white monster rippled its hideous surface and swallowed the adventurers and mercenaries.
[You’re afraid. Every one of you is afraid of me and of this being.]
“U-Uaaaah!”
[But it’s all right. I can embrace all of you.]
Yet those who survived were hardly in a better position.
The curse that had already been provoking people’s fear and driving them into madness swept over them once again.
[Come. Come this way.]
“Emily. Emily!”
“A-Alex… y-you’re dead, you died… Huaagh!”
“Don’t come! Don’t come!!”
Every time the Great Demon sitting primly atop the monster’s head beckoned with a hand, another madman appeared.
