“Damn, what a pain in the ass. Knew this would happen.”
Mistilteinn sighed as he watched someone smash the monsters apart at an overwhelming speed.
“One look was enough to tell I was gonna lose.”
What kind of bastard made a bet despite knowing from the start that they were going to win? Was it something like, a predictable victory was still a victory?
It was fortunate there was no penalty for losing on his side. Otherwise, he would have protected his gold even if it meant giving up his manhood. An amount of gold equal to that giant body was worth going that far for.
“Kihihihi.”
Something flew in from behind him then. It was an arrow from Loki, small in stature but downright uncanny when it came to archery.
“Captain, watch your back.”
Laughing that characteristic mocking laugh, Loki slipped in between the shield-bearers and gave him a wave. The gesture looked almost as though Loki were making fun of him, but he did not particularly feel like scolding the archer.
That was because Loki’s arrow had actually shot down the monster that had been aiming for him.
“Hey, Loki. Nice one.”
“Kihihihi.”
He shook off the monster Loki’s arrow had killed, the corpse having slumped over against his back, then thrust his spear into a new monster charging at him.
