Meister clutched their head and groaned, agonized for another moment, then finally shot to their feet.

If Meister had failed to find the Vermilion Bird, they had actually intended to check the Magic Tower first.
No matter what happened inside the city, Meister had believed the Magic Tower would remain intact under almost any circumstances.
How many damn barriers were installed around the Magic Tower?
There was no way all those bastards had already died.
There were even four resident Archmages there at the moment.
Even accounting for the possibility that internal division might have broken out, it was still worth placing hope in them.
