At first, Deathbringer could not hide his shock at the doll standing boldly atop the stairs.
Its appearance and the manner of its arrival were both far too unexpected for him to react otherwise.
Deathbringer’s eyes carefully swept over the doll, which was no larger than a human palm.
“…White Crow?”
—That’s right.
“No, seriously?”
This doll, with nothing particularly unusual about it except its oversized head, looked like something he could simply close his palm around.
And this was really White Crow?
Seriously?
For real?
Deathbringer did not waste long pondering a fact he could not immediately verify.
Instead, even if only out of the corner of his eye, he examined the doll’s materials and assessed how dangerous it might be.
It was a precaution against any unforeseen possibility.
‘It isn’t a cloth doll. That’s real hide. And those aren’t fake eyes, either. They stuck actual eyeballs in there.’
The conclusion he reached was that most of the things comprising the doll had once belonged to living creatures.
Even if they were not necessarily human, there was a high chance they had been torn from living animals.
The eyeballs and hair, at the very least, certainly seemed to be.
‘Fuuuck. Are all life-type mages this fucking insane?’
He had never seen a high-end doll before, but when people said doll, didn’t they normally mean buttons, fur, and cloth?
So why the hell had this lunatic stitched together human skin and gouged the eyes out of small animals to stick them inside?
Was this bastard actually insane?
