“Do not follow them.”

Berserk watched the Adventurer leave with the mage, then stopped the young hunter who was about to follow.

It was not solely out of consideration for the Adventurer.

She happened to have something she wanted to say to the young hunter as well.

“I’m sorry.”

Once she thought the Adventurer had gone far enough away, she abruptly spoke.

Because there was no subject, both the girl and the young hunter looked momentarily bewildered.

Their eyes spent a long moment trying to determine whom the apology had been directed toward.

“Your arms… have they fully healed?”

But when the next words followed, their expressions changed completely.

The girl turned her gaze away with an expression that plainly said, Ah, not me, while the one who had just been confirmed as the intended recipient pricked his ears straight up in surprise.

“Th-They’re completely healed.”

“I see…….”

Of course Berserk knew the Inquisitor’s power well.

She had experienced it directly several times, after all.

Once the Inquisitor had intervened, Deathbringer’s arms would undoubtedly have healed perfectly.

More cleanly than if anyone else had treated them, as though time itself had been turned backward.

“I’m sorry.”

But no matter how perfectly they had been restored, that did not erase the fact that they had once been broken.

So long as they remembered it, that fact would remain forever.

“Don’t… apologize.”

And so Berserk apologized, while Deathbringer refused with a constricted throat.

His eyes, flushed so red that he looked ready…
