Creak-!
The long spine coiled around the stone pagoda clashed against itself, making a sound.
The bones moved as if alive, like a snake.
And at the end.
At the tip of the towering skeleton that seemed to almost reach the ceiling was a human skull.
Facing that enormous skull, I felt my mind go completely blank.
“Huff, huff……!”
I was out of breath before I even realized it.
I didn’t want to look at it any longer, but I couldn’t move.
All I could do was stare at the giant skull and gasp for air.
It was then.
Grasp-!
Something pulled my arm down.
Thud-!
I, who had barely been standing, collapsed weakly.
Someone pressed my head down with their hand.
“Bow your head……”
A faint voice reached me.
“Huff, huff, gasp……!”
Lying face down on the floor, I barely regained my wits and inhaled.
In that state, I saw the person who had grabbed me.
It was a woman who had pulled me.
Wearing a thick winter coat and covering her face with long hair, she was holding my hand.
As I stared blankly at that hand, water dripped from my forehead.
It was cold sweat I had broken out.
The abdominal pain I had briefly forgotten in panic…
