Lilith quickly assessed the reversed gravity and the ground rising into the air. Thanks to fragments of the earth floating upward, the arrows had been blocked, if only for a brief moment.
‘I was far too careless. I already knew there was a possibility of running into humans.’
He used that opening to think of a way out of the situation. It was not easy. Throughout his entire life, there had only been a handful of occasions when he had personally stood on the front lines of battle.
And this was not even a simple combat situation. Before him stood an archer skilled in long-range combat and well accustomed to battle, while one of the Ancient Beasts, the Vermilion Bird, was gradually approaching through the sky.

Just then, the inside of his body was violently shaken, consuming some of his Demonic Energy. His body might have been structured differently from a human’s, but being crushed still caused damage all the same.
‘Come to think of it, was Cain’s power something that no one but Cain could properly handle……?’
Cain’s ability was characterized by making gravity converge toward zero without distinguishing friend from foe. Unless one possessed a body designed from the beginning to withstand zero gravity like Cain’s, even a Great Demon would suffer damage without exception.
‘…But I can’t use Sloth’s ability again.’
Could he shake that human off if he summoned the nightmare? Yet using Sloth’s power effectively consumed no small amount of energy. It almost seemed more efficient to amplify emotions and forcibly create an opening instead.
