The moment her conversation with Pride ended, Lilith noticed that one of the anchors of her illusion magic had been destroyed.
[They wouldn’t have gone near the pile of bones, if only because the Dullahans would have made it troublesome…….]
At first, she wondered whether it had been the work of the warriors fighting in the plaza.
But that could not be.
She had thoroughly adjusted the positions of the objects serving as the spell’s anchors with the expectation that a battle would break out in the plaza.
The braziers positioned so precariously that they looked as though they might be swallowed by the mound of bones at any moment were one such example.
Crash!
Another brazier shattered into pieces.
She had constructed the formation so that it could endure the destruction of up to four anchors in anticipation of stray attacks, but that did not mean she could simply dismiss this.
The braziers had survived perfectly well until now.
There was no way their sudden destruction could be blamed on mere bad luck.
‘…So they noticed after all.’
Now that the Dullahans had been seen emerging from the mound of bones, no one would deliberately approach it.
Even putting the Dullahans aside, with such a broad plaza available, there was no reason to deliberately step somewhere they could trip over bones.
Furthermore, the forms of the objects she had chosen as anchors had been selected with the nighttime environment in mind.
Unless a human possessed the ability to see through darkness or knew magic well, people rarely went out of their way to destroy sources of light.
Crash!
And yet if three braziers were destroyed one after…
