Just like last time, the Vermilion Bird carried us on its back and beat its enormous wings through the open sky.
The three locals who had unexpectedly ended up traveling with us screamed every time it moved, thoroughly experiencing the thrill.
“H-Hyung, I’m scared……!”
“C-Calm down, Gainir.”
“A-Aren’t we going to fall? This is seriously……!”
“Pamir, this is absolutely insane—”
But no matter how quickly regret comes, it is always one step too late.
The people who had begged us not to leave them behind were now reduced to resenting their past selves.
Since it was entirely their own doing and they couldn’t even blame anyone else, theirs was a truly pitiful position.
“Adventurer, are you all right?”

And if you’re wondering how I knew all this, it was thanks to the Vermilion Bird’s consideration.
Most graciously, the Vermilion Bird had not only remembered that there was a human unable to ride directly on its back but had even prepared an item specifically for that person.
A basket.
And not just any basket, but one fitted with securing rings on the bottom.

Of course, it wasn’t particularly large.
It was about the exact size required to fit someone of my build.
Fine for a short while, but the perfect width to give you cramps if you stayed inside too long.
Even this was a blessing compared to being wrapped in a carrying cloth, so I hadn’t refused.
