The ‘Dragon King’ was powerful.
Until humanity’s final Master appeared, she had unquestionably been considered its strongest asset. Perhaps one could call her the sole beacon illuminating a procession racing toward extinction.
Nevertheless, she was not invincible.
In another future where the world’s stars fell one by one, the ‘me’ who came from the future had unquestionably witnessed the Dragon King’s death. Yet I harbored a vague question about that fact.
Why did it have to be the ‘Dragon King’?
She was a leader. A guide, and their final hope. Such a position could not be seized through force alone.
The Dragon King was clever.
She was a woman with both strength and outstanding insight. So much so that it was difficult to contain her within the ordinary bounds of ‘intelligence.’ Those silvery-gray eyes quite literally pierced through past and future.
That was where my curiosity began.
Even if it was not the ‘Dragon King,’ there were others who could have made the sacrifice. The ‘me from the future’ would surely…
