After the soup, the main dishes gradually began making their appearance.
Had this been Earth, a fish course or something similar might have come in between, but the combination of a region that preferred meat and an order to bring everything out at once was formidable.
Meat dishes began crowding the table.

But when I removed all the bones and placed only the flesh in my mouth, the girl stared fixedly at me.
Her expression made it obvious she was wondering what it tasted like, so I readily pulled off a piece of flesh and placed it on her plate.

Fish tended to be softer than meat, after all.
