Hawkeye clicked his tongue as he looked at the target that his arrows couldn’t penetrate in the slightest.
“Seriously, it’s ridiculously tough for no reason. Annoying.”
Even arrows coated with piercing magic were useless. After ten attempts, Hawkeye admitted that there was nothing he could do.
It was an extremely unpleasant feeling.
“Don’t take it too hard. At least you’re better off than me, who can’t do a damn thing.”
As he swallowed down his frustration, the person beside him spoke.
It was Deathbringer, wearing a somewhat sullen expression.
“I don’t know about that. At the moment, I’m just as powerless…….”
“I can’t fucking see anything, though.”
Well, that was true too.
Thanks to the Vermilion Bird’s flames and the overflowing gold of Divine Power, the surroundings weren’t exactly dark, but given the distance, ordinary eyesight would have trouble making out the finer details.
“I don’t think that’s something I need to worry about for you.”
But how was that Hawkeye’s fault?
If Deathbringer was being hindered by a lack of natural talent, that was something he had to resolve himself.
Not something to complain to someone else about.

Hawkeye ignored Deathbringer’s strange look.
Instead, he raised the longbow he had briefly lowered.
“Didn’t you just say your arrows don’t work?”
“As direct attacks, yes.”
He could probably still deflect attacks that had already been launched or create small openings.
