“There aren’t any decent weapons.”
Despite all the chaos that had just occurred, Berserk chose to go shopping for a weapon rather than follow Archmage to meet the Lord.
Cleaning up the aftermath was the responsibility of the soldiers and the Temple, and there was no particular reason for her to get further involved, so it was hardly a strange choice.
“Really? That’s a problem. This place was about the best one in the city.”
Hawkeye had made much the same choice.
Even if he followed the important people to their gathering, all he would do was stand there awkwardly, so he had decided to use the time to replenish his arrows instead.
“Whew, I’m back.”
“Oh, Crusher!”
Just then, Crusher, who had followed Archmage earlier, came strolling over from the other side.
She had been forced to accompany the mage because of the issue with her commission, but apparently it had already been resolved somehow.
“You’re back early?”
“Guess they figured it was going to drag on, so they wrote me a letter. Thanks to that, I canceled the commission immediately without having to wait around.”
“What about the advance?”
“Dunno. Nobody said anything, so it’s probably fine.”
“Crusher! You can’t just gloss over things like that!”
“Shut up.”
In any case, there were no weapons here that truly appealed to Berserk.
It was not that their quality was lacking. There simply was nothing that somehow drew her eye, nothing that felt as though the grip settled perfectly into her hand the instant she held it.
