At the same time, Sisley was heading out into the vast open sea aboard a small boat.
The jade-green waves characteristic of the warm current broke against the gunwale in the sunlight, while the salty sea breeze continuously swept the girl’s silver hair behind her.
“We’re almost there, Mitra. That’s the reef island where Lord Manta is.”
At Sisley’s voice, Mitra, who had been rowing in a daze, finally came to his senses and raised his head. Before he knew it, he had been swept along by Sisley’s urging and was now personally rowing the boat toward the northern reef island.
“There…….”
The draconian’s face darkened as he stared at the hazy reef island and the enormous silhouette resting upon it.
Truthfully, there had been several opportunities for him to slip away.
And yet, strangely enough, he had found it exceedingly difficult to refuse Sisley’s proposal. Whenever he looked into the little Saintess’s clear gray eyes, he had the peculiar feeling that the future he was meant to accept was somehow reflected within them.
Besides, the girl looked fragile enough to shatter if one of the draconian’s huge hands so much as flicked her.
Of course, the fact that she was actually strong enough to crumple armor with her bare hands was not particularly important to him.
Nor was the fact that the grip with which she dragged him along was unexpectedly formidable.
