Logan sensed something dubious in Mitra’s explanation. A subtle ripple of the sort people often gave off when they wanted to hide something.
But for the moment, he set his suspicions aside and carefully began walking toward the water with the small creature in his arms. Despite how much Divine Power he had poured into it, its breathing was still faint.
The shore where the cliff met the sea was exceedingly steep. Thanks to that, he had taken only a few steps before the water was already up to his waist.
Judging that he had reached a suitable depth, Logan floated the Manta Tribe child in his arms onto the surface, taking meticulous care to ensure that its gills remained fully submerged.
Blub… blub…….
One by one, tiny bubbles escaped from the Manta’s nasal cavities. It likely meant water was once again filling the lungs that had dried out.
The Aura that had been stagnant and steadily fading finally began to circulate. A watery sheen also slowly returned to its parched hide.
Once that urgent matter was dealt with, the various questions Logan had pushed aside finally flashed through his mind.
