Crash!
The chair toppled backward.
Only when I hit the floor did I realize that I had fallen.
Thump, thump, thump.
My heart pounded violently, each beat distinct enough for me to feel.
Fiery heat surged from within, bringing pain as though my entire body were burning away.
“Urgh, haah…!”
I curled into myself to endure the agony.
Reflexive tears streamed from my eyes.
Panting with my mouth wide open, I clawed wildly at my chest.
I wanted to vomit up the blazing fire, but no matter how hard I retched, only bitter stomach acid flowed out.
My entire body was being burned alive.
I felt as though I would die.
No. I was definitely going to die.
“Mr. Gunbam.”
Dominic held me. Sobbing, I begged him.
Help me.
Please help me.
I pleaded desperately, but Dominic did not help.
He restrained my convulsing body with one hand, pressing me down, and merely examined my condition with the other.
“You are too young to digest it all at once without difficulty. I should have divided it into smaller portions, even if that somewhat diminished its effect.”
