As I followed the Security Chief, I thought about Creature No. 13.
Originally, Creature No. 13 did not exist in the game, and naturally, solitary cell No. 13 was empty.
The weekly schedule changed each week, determining whether you followed the work handbook and acted as though someone occupied cell No. 13 or as though no one was there.
‘There had better not be too many anomalies.’
The Creatures were crucial to the Trial, so any further variables would prove troublesome.
Still, I was curious about the new Creature.
Half worried and half curious, I continued walking.
Sector X, where thirteen solitary cells stood, was far more sinister than in the game.
A damp chill I had never felt in the game clung to my skin and sent a shiver through me.
Twelve solitary cells faced one another along the corridor stretching out on either side, while the final, thirteenth cell stood isolated at the very end.
Beyond their thick iron bars, the cells were terribly cramped.
The only light entered through tiny, hole-like windows no larger than a palm.
Even those were packed with iron…
