It went without saying that I did not enjoy being hit.
However, when tackling the Trial as the Medical Officer, the fastest and most effective method was to let the Prison Guards beat you up on the very first day.
TCX had a unique system available only to the Medical Officer.
Namely, “Suspicion” and “Affection.”
Unlike other games, where you generally only needed to manage Affection, here you had to pay attention to Suspicion as well.
The values were tracked separately for each NPC and ranged from a minimum of 0 to a maximum of 100.
The events and Endings that occurred differed according to those values.
If the Prison Guards’ Suspicion was high, there was a strong chance an event would occur in which they dragged you somewhere without surveillance cameras and assaulted you.
On the other hand, if the Prison Guards’ Suspicion was too low, it became difficult to earn Affection from the Creatures no matter how well you treated them.
They would suspect that you were in league with the Prison Guards.
To reach the True Ending as the Medical Officer, you had to earn an appropriate degree of both Suspicion and Affection from the Prison Guards, while achieving 0 Suspicion and 100 Affection with the Creatures.
The Prison Guards, in particular, required caution.
High Suspicion naturally led to a Bad Ending, but so…
