It wasn’t my memory. This contradictory sensation—unfamiliar yet familiar—before I knew it, the scenery of a vast land was unfolding across my retinas.
The eastern part of the continent was famous for its vast and fertile plains. This region, called the ‘Great Granary,’ had faithfully served as the lifeline for the empire and the holy kingdom since ancient times, but everything had changed after the war.
As I took a step, a squelching sound echoed. The mud clinging to my boots left bloody marks as it slowly dripped down.
An unpleasant stench.
It was the smell of blood and corpses. The land that had once been a symbol of abundance was gone, and the trees that had occasionally cast shadows were dead, leaving only grotesque skeletons.
In a land so close to death, there was no place suitable for rest.

After walking for days without rest, our steps came to a halt in front of a certain point. Before us was a miraculous landscape.
