The men’s dormitory in the middle of the day was quiet.
It was a strange statement. Unless it was vacation time, the Academy housed a population numbering in the tens of thousands. Among them, the group that occupied the highest proportion was undoubtedly the ‘students.’
Since more than half of the students were male, it was inevitable that the men’s dormitory would be bustling.
Nevertheless, the men’s dormitory where I and my companions arrived was oppressed by a heavy silence. People were still moving about, but it could be said that the unique vitality of youth was nowhere to be seen.
Of course, there were a few more men’s dormitories besides this one. But no matter where you went, the atmosphere wouldn’t be much different.
It was the effect of the successive attacks. Considering the humiliations the Academy had suffered over the past year, it was a natural outcome. There were no longer any students who felt the Academy was a safe place.
