“I see.”
I toyed with the stirrup leather that had ended up in my hands and, for the moment, expressed my thanks. Him having been rude to me was one thing, and me receiving something for free was another.
“So is this simply a decorative item?”
“Ah, no, it isn’t.”
Timanyuk, who had somehow ended up joining us for dinner, waved his hand.
In front of him sat enough food to feed the entire party and still leave plenty behind. It was all food Daniel and I had ended up buying in absurd quantities while saying, “This was good,” and, “That was good.”
For reference, anything that tasted best while warm had been transported through the Inventory, so almost none of the food had gone cold.
“It has been enchanted with a Shield spell that can be used up to three times. I had heard about your martial prowess, so I arranged it to focus on protecting the horse rather than the rider…….”
“I cannot thank you enough.”
What?
A Shield-enchanted item that protected my horse?
And I could use it up to three times?
And he was giving it to me for free?
I felt my first impression of him as rude melt away like snow. Well, of course. The gift he’d given me was far too valuable for me to keep clinging to that impression.
“This is far too good an item to receive for free. Is there anything you want in return?”
“Anything I want… Then could I see those magnificent riding skills again sometime?”
“As often as you wish.”
“What is this? Sir just got bought off by capital.”
