“Kgh…!” The person who looked like an archer character took a step back. I had no idea whether I should be grateful they backed down so readily, or flustered that I’d been confessed to by someone I’d only just met—not quite a complete stranger, but close enough.
“Idiot. You think blurting out a confession out of nowhere is going to work? We don’t even know whether your sexual orientations line up in the first place.”
Fortunately, the martial artist traveling with them seemed to have a sound set of values. At her jab, the archer-like person burst out.

If it was only a handshake, I had no problem with that. I readily held out my hand.
