After seeing the crack in the Griptok, I had no idea what state of mind I spent that night in.
The next day, sick or not, I immediately went out and bought a new phone.
Then, after moving over the SIM card, I attached the cracked Griptok with trembling hands and turned it on.

Like an old computer, it showed the distinctive lag of a machine with barely any life left in it….
It recovered to normal soon enough, but the sight chilled me to the bone.

Because I had bought it from the pop-up store and ended up in the bizarre situation of actually being able to use it in this Ghost Story setting, I had been carrying the smartphone around almost like a part of my own body, and I had overlooked that part.
Couldn’t I just copy the wiki contents somewhere else as a backup?
“That alone would probably take over a month.”
To begin with, the pages that appeared through the Memorial Griptok couldn’t be copied or captured. I would have to look at them on the smartphone and handwrite every single thing out.
“And I don’t even know if this Griptok will hold out that long.”
Still, there was no reason to panic.

I had built up a foundation here over the last half year too, so other options were open to me now.
