A Ghost Story set in a school.
In truth, it was a tradition stretching far back into the past.
When hundreds of teenagers have to live all day in one building, it’d be stranger if they never once took an interest in scary and bizarre rumors, mysterious rituals, or ghosts.
The Seven Mysteries, Bunshinsaba, and all that….
Naturally, even I—someone who had come out of that kind of school life—thought it was pretty fun.
Wasn’t it a universal, popular horror story?
‘Which was why I’d gathered my courage and, for the first time, added an exploration record of my own.’
Fortunately, my record didn’t get taken down in a barrage of “Do Not Recommend” ratings, and using that as a stepping stone, I’d even gone so far as to make up and post a Ghost Story of my own…
But.
‘I’m… going in there?’
It felt strange.
Obviously, the chill running down my spine at the thought of entering a Ghost Story came first, but there was also this odd queasy feeling.
It wasn’t like the feeling of having a textbook in front of me—no, not that…
Anticipation and fear?
‘I don’t know what the right way to describe it is….’
Anyway, the manual had already been distributed, and I had to at least ‘attempt’ to enter.
In that case.
-Shall we perform a short ritual before falling asleep tonight? I am curious whether it is some secret method of yours for sleeping soundly, Mr. Roe Deer!
“Not that.”
I silently straightened the bed.
