First love is always poignant.
In life, most first experiences are bound to be forgotten quickly. Either because they happen in childhood that’s hard to remember, or because the emotions of that day become dulled in the flow of long years.
However, there is only one exception.
‘Love’ was different. Who was it that said, a man cannot forget his first love even after a lifetime.
The man was no exception to that.
He still remembered.
“From now on, you two will have to endure hardships together and devote several years to training.”

The damp smell unique to the jungle, the soft soil soaked with moisture, and the scorching heat that baked the skin.
That day, the man met the girl for the first time.
A woman who had pressed down a conical hat as big as her head and didn’t hide her sullen expression.
Her pure white skin didn’t match the fiercely burning sun of the southern country. Those blue eyes were like jewels crafted from droplets of lake water, and her delicate features evoked the sentiment of ‘adorable’ from anyone who saw her.
Probably, the expression ‘like a doll’ was prepared for this very day.
The master said.
“First.”
“Y-Yes? Ah, yes.”
The man, who had been dazed, only then snapped back to his senses in surprise. To think he had been staring at the other person for so long on their first meeting.
