Everyone has wounds that must not be touched.
Even the meek and docile have them. In life, one inevitably faces issues that cannot be compromised on, and in front of such scars, most humans are utterly powerless.
Because they are matters that can’t be dealt with rationally to begin with.
Looking back, it was laughable. Why did I end up with such a ridiculous weakness?
Because it was the first time I almost lost an acquaintance?
Or perhaps, the image of Emma’s father shedding tears that day stuck particularly in my memory.
Either way, pondering the cause was meaningless. The result wouldn’t change anyway.
I hated seeing Emma bleed.
