Maybe it was because I had eaten so much for dinner and a late-night meal.
The first thing I felt upon waking was heaviness in my stomach.
It wasn’t indigestion. It simply felt like my stomach was still somewhat full, leaving me less hungry than usual.
“That’s all you’re eating?”
“I ate a lot yesterday.”
So I filled one bowl with comparatively light foods.
Once I also took about half a bowl of soup packed with spices, the gazes that had been fixed on me softened considerably.
“Refreshing…….”
I hadn’t been drinking, but if this was what people meant when they said something cured a hangover, it must feel exactly like this.
Ah, seriously.
I love the fact that this city uses hot spices in its cooking.
I drank the soup on my plate with satisfaction and found myself impressed all over again.
“……?”
But the Inquisitor tilted her head at my exclamation.
For reference, she was currently sitting beside me after beating the late Deathbringer to the seat.
The sulking Deathbringer sat two seats over with his ears flattened sideways, grumbling to himself.
“Has the soup already gone cold? Shall I bring you a fresh one?”
“……? It is still warm, so there’s no need…….”
Why is she suddenly saying something so random… Ah.
Is it because I said it was refreshing?
“If you assumed it had gone cold because I called it refreshing, that is a misunderstanding. In my homeland, even food that is hot can sometimes be described as ‘refreshing’ if it makes the inside of your body feel… hm, cleared out.”
