The southern side of Peridereo Island was a towering cliff where black volcanic rock lay completely exposed. And southeast of that cliff stood a vast sea cliff formed by the twisting currents.
That concave stretch of coast lay beyond a cape jutting southward, making it an ideal place to avoid the eyes of the fleet anchored west of the island.
Following the guidance of the Manta Tribe, Logan held his first unofficial meeting with another race in that secret place.
‘It’s unexpected that they refused Mitra.’
At first, Logan had naturally assumed that Mitra should accompany him to this meeting. That elderly Draconian was the only member of another race Logan knew personally(?), and from what he had heard, Mitra had also maintained relations with the Manta Tribe for quite a long time.
Surprisingly, however, the Manta Tribe wanted absolutely no interference from any other race in this meeting.
They even looked rather displeased upon seeing the wolfdog wagging its tail affectionately at Logan. Their reason was that the dog, clearly descended from the wolves of Ionia, might already have become the familiar of some Lycanthrope.
And so, in the end, only Logan and Dame Sharon followed the Manta Tribe.
Once they secretly reached the sea cliff without being noticed by the sailors, the members of the Manta Tribe who had arrived first and were waiting finally revealed themselves above the surface of the water.
