Sisley tilted her head at the man’s absurd question.
“What do you mean? Of course I can see you. Unless you’re saying you’re some kind of ghost?”

The Draconian became visibly flustered and hurriedly rummaged through his clothes, checking to make sure his ‘talisman’ had not somehow been damaged.
The talisman he possessed was an object from the Quartz Image World, one of the things commonly known as a ‘magic item.’
Its primary function was [Isolation].
It protected its wearer from all manner of external conditions, including inclement weather. As proof, even in the midst of this violent wind and rain, not a single part of the Draconian’s clothing was wet.
Nor was that ‘Isolation’ limited solely to physical things. It distorted the gazes of others and subtly interfered with their perception so they would fail to notice anything strange.
In other words, ordinarily, even if someone looked straight at him, it was only natural that they would fail to properly register his presence. After all, people did not normally imagine that someone might be sitting there perfectly at ease on a seaside rooftop in the middle of a typhoon.
