That flame felt like an extremely alien entity to Schmidt.
Seeing it slowly emitting demonic energy, its origin was undoubtedly a demon’s soul. But there was something strange about the way it had taken form.
“There’s no direct contractor for that demon nearby!”
There are two main ways for a demon to manifest in another dimension.
One is to descend by borrowing the body of a contractor, and the other is to appear directly by consuming a vast amount of causality.
However, considering it as mediated by a contractor, that flame had taken on an overly pure form of energy. It was literally just a blazing flame itself.
Then, it would mean that it was emitting strong enough demonic energy to clearly materialize its presence, but upon closer inspection, that didn’t seem to be the case.
The amount of demonic energy it was actually exuding was quite insignificant.
“Could it be… that in the process of materialization, some other law, perhaps the laws of the regulatory world, intervened?”
It felt as if something was obscured by a veil, strangely sidestepping the causality necessary for its existence.
