Even after reaching the lodging, Seongjin couldn’t shake off his dazed state. It felt like narcolepsy—his consciousness would slip away momentarily, and upon opening his eyes, he’d find the surroundings had shifted without him noticing.
“Your Highness, Your Highness!”
Beside him, Edith called out repeatedly, trying to snap Seongjin out of it.
Lee Seongjin, what’s wrong? Lee Seongjiin!
“Your Highness, we’ll take you to your room right away.”
Faintly, the voices of the demon king and Sir Masain drifted into his ears.
They must all be startled. I should let them know I’m fine soon…
But regrettably, he lacked the mental clarity to even move his mouth properly.
It’s too soon to let my guard down. Just a little longer.
As he stumbled along with a foggy mind, he felt someone beside him grab his arm to steady him. Naturally, Seongjin was too out of it to tell whether it was Sir Masain or Edith. Amid all this, was it sheer luck that he hadn’t dropped the demon king’s lamp he was gripping onto the floor?
It’s not over yet. I don’t quite know what it is, but there’s definitely something I still have to do… something left unfinished.
But it’d be over soon.
Mulling over these vague thoughts to himself, Seongjin let Sir Masain and Edith guide him, his steps faltering…
