A ceiling with no pattern in sight, rough to the touch. Hardly any light came in, so it was hard to see what was even there.
I let out a sigh as I looked around the clammy air and the grimy surroundings.
Staring up at the stone ceiling, I thought:

Why does it always end up like this. Nothing has ever gone smoothly.

I looked at them curtly and sighed.

At the fresh voice, I lifted my head.
