The monster that had been struggling to break free suddenly went quiet.
Its torn, amaranth-colored eyes widened slightly.

Wind blew in. Within the howling gusts, thunder qi gathered. In the sky that still showed night, an aurora trembled.
While an amaranth aurora roiled, under the roughened air, Taecheon looked to the far side.
Char-blackened earth. A woman stood upon it. Her expression seemed somewhat tired, and only her violet eyes shone.
She staggered while clutching her sword.
“Cough.”
She spat blood. As if something throbbed, she clutched her head, then let out rough, ragged breaths.
Watching that, Taecheon spoke.
“How curious.”
He tilted his head. As Taecheon tipped his head, his body crumbled; the damaged flesh fell away in fragments to the ground.
Taecheon didn’t care in the least. He seemed not to mind such things at all, merely staring at…
