My mind was a haze as I stumbled back to the cabin, the path blurring in my memory. Before I knew it, I was in the kitchen, the acrid smell of burnt sauce jolting me back to reality. I had been so lost in thought that I’d let the pot scorch.
“Oh no, what a mess!” I muttered, scrubbing the scorched pot with frantic energy. As I worked, my mind wandered, thoughts tumbling over each other like leaves in a storm.
This is just a dream, right? So, even if I trigger a genre-shift penalty, it shouldn’t matter much…
But acting recklessly could still backfire, so it was probably best not to test it. Then again, another possibility crossed my mind, one far more tempting.
