God fashioned humans and beasts within one world, but because they could speak to one another, the balance went awry. Language meant wisdom, and each was consumed with hating the other. And so God repaired the world.

God raised humans high and lowered beasts. Taking away the Authority of their wisdom, God confined it within a single point, and there, trees grew thickly. From those trees, God fashioned flesh, then broke divine bones to establish a foundation. God’s blood flowed, and a crimson dragon was born.

God spoke. My child, my gentle lamb, protect the world I have created. You are the emissary I cherish most, so receive this purpose. Do not frighten that which is mine. In accordance with the divine will, the dragon assumed a human form and at times became a beast to protect the world.

Because God did not take it back, its life had no end. The dragon went to the forest and killed itself. Blood as vast as an ocean covered the forest and pooled there, gradually rotting into poison. Thus the forest was dyed black, and in fury, God sent a new emissary and cursed that mission.

From that day onward, whenever dragons needed death, they went to the forest and killed themselves. The forest became a tomb and brought benefit to the world. For the sake of the world God loved, the dragons offered themselves. They became part of the forest and fulfilled their mission.
