The sun’s grace is not impartial.
It was a claim that would have made any priest of the Celestial Church fly into a rage. After all, the sun was none other than the liver of the Heavenly God Arus, as well as the primordial grace that watched over the world.
Over thousands of years of history, this belief had gained flesh and bone, growing ever stronger. To clerics who lived within a world of scripture and logic, this proposition could only be true.
But we know.
Surprisingly, the sun is fickle, and it disappears especially early in mountain valleys.
‘Heavenly Sword Mountain’ was no exception to that simple truth. The forest, where the source of light and heat had long since vanished from sight, was dim, and only the chirping of insects tapped against the still night air.
It was an hour that could quite literally be called ‘the middle of the night.’
