The Bishop opened her eyes in the same place again today.

“You have come.”

It was a dream in which the crimson Evil God floated above the lake where the Moon should have been.

“I gladly welcome your visit.”

“I do not know why you keep summoning someone as lowly as me.”

“Because you saw me.”

“A grave sin indeed….”

She had taken into her eyes something she should never have beheld.

“I should not have let it steal my gaze.”

For a moment, she had been entranced by its splendor. Perhaps those blood-red wings had been too vivid for eyes accustomed to white. Perhaps the golden blood flowing with elegant grace from that shattered head had been beautiful.
