I shouted desperately.
If Dominic joined the cult, he would undoubtedly rise all the way to its highest position.
There was no telling what might happen if he summoned an Outer God.
I had to take him with me as a companion, no matter what.
Dominic’s eyes widened slightly at my outcry.
But a moment later, he readily accepted the proposal.
“Very well.”
“Dr. Dominic” has joined you as a companion.
His immediate agreement without even giving it much thought left me more surprised than he was.
He had no idea what I might ask him to do.
“Aren’t you going to ask what it involves?”
“It makes no difference to me.”
Options appeared.
Explain what kind of mission you will have Dr. Dominic perform.
I chose the third.
“Even if I ask you to kill someone?”
Dominic smiled as though wondering why I would even ask.
“You are the only thing here that holds any meaning, Mr. Gunbam.”
At first glance, the answer seemed vague, but its meaning was clear.
The entity before me had merely studied humanity and learned to imitate it.
Having lost his memories and unaware of what he was, Dominic copied human behavior in its entirety.
That included expressions, gestures, habits, and mannerisms, as well as how one ought to react in any given situation.
